The plant looks like a strong and supple spine. Tabashir is a traditionnal natural remedy in the south of India and Bengal.
Its high silical content (70 %) makes it interesting in phytotherapy as silica is the most important component of the connective tissue, especially in cartilage, tendons, arterial walls, skin, hair and nails. It has a remineralising action and preserves elasticity and youthfulness.
Silica is necessary for bones to fix calcium and to improve the texture of collagen; tabashir also provides iron, calcium, choline and betaine and stimulates the natural defences of the organism. This makes it valuable during growth, pregnancy, repair of fractures, and for combatting ageing, and acute or chronic joints ailments. Osteoporosis (bone decalcification) also responds well to Bamboo Tabashir.
