An anti-inflammatory and antiseptic
The bark of this tree with flexible graceful branches has been known from old as an astringent and tonic. Popular medicine best knows white willow bark for its aspirin-like properties able to relieve pain in rheumatic joints, headaches, sciatica and other neuralgias. A febrifuge and antiseptic, white willow reduces fecer in cases of colds and flu, and gives relief in cases of cystitis and gastroenteritis.
